We make a point of not working in an agency ivory tower. Instead, we go out and talk to donors. About 100 a year. Usually in long phone conversations, sometimes sitting on the sofa in people’s homes.
Recently, we spent a few lunchtimes out and about stopping people in the street to find out which charities they give to and what tip they’d give to charities struggling to keep donations coming in during the recession.
