UCL Futures
Challenge. To create an exciting alumni communication to revitalise and re-energise the fundraising messages of UCL's alumni giving programme, UCL Futures – and to demonstrate to alumni how their giving plays a part within a major university fundraising campaign.
Solution. Uplifting and surprising imagery and copy conveyed the thrill of being part of UCL Futures and tackling some of the world's biggest challenges – from climate change solutions to major medical breakthroughs.
Results. The core brochure was used extensively by the UCL communications team as a standalone piece, replacing all other previous materials explaining the UCL Futures programme. The mailing pack containing the brochure raised more money than all other UCL mailings put together in 2008 – and was re-used and adapted for other audiences due to its huge success. The communication has also helped to differentiate UCL's fundraising message from its peer universities.
