Camphill: Happy Christmas 2008!
Challenge. As part of an ongoing communication and fundraising strategy, to raise funds from some 78,000 donors for a new home for adults with learning disabilities in the Camphill community of Delrow.
Solution. Focussing on helping to fulfil the community’s Christmas wish, the mailing contained a colourful newsletter packed with engaging case studies, plus a cheery letter, an appeal leaflet, and charming Christmas card designed and signed by a Camphill resident.
Results. At a time of collapsing finances for many people, the strength of relationships created through many years of innovation around donor care and choice held true. The mailing raised almost a million pounds with an ROI of 7.8. Excluding reactivation segments the response rate was 27.77%, with some segments responding at up to 60%.
